Derby PC ‘had sex with colleague in back of a police van’

An award-winning police constable is accused of having sexual activity with a female colleague in a police van when they were supposed to be on duty.

PC Christopher Frost, who is also accused of touching another colleague on her bottom without consent, has appeared at a disciplinary hearing.

PC Frost, who is based in Derby, has been a police officer for nearly 12 years.

The misconduct hearing, at Derbyshire Police headquarters in Ripley, opened this morning and is expected to last several days.

The hearing was told that PC Frost was with another officer in a police van late at night in October 2016 when they went in the back and engaged in sexual activity.

This was after he had taken a family home in Derby following a domestic violence incident.

The force became aware of the sexual activity incident after comments were made during a late shift.

The hearing was told PC Frost was more senior than the other officer and ‘instigated sexual activity’.

David Ring, representing Derbyshire police at the hearing, said that the second incident happened two days later when PC Frost was on duty as an Acting Sergeant.

He said PC Frost and another officer had sent flirty messages to each other, which included photographs and videos sent by PC Frost.

While they were on duty on October 7, he grabbed her bottom, Mr Ring said.

He added: ‘She described being in a state of shock. It made her shocked and uncomfortable.’

Inspector Mark Pickard, of Derbyshire Police Federation, is representing PC Frost.

He said the relationship between PC Frost and both of the female officers was ‘very flirty’.

Inspector Pickard said the officer had said he was ‘truly sorry’ and ‘nothing like this would ever happen again’.

The hearing continues.
