Designer Collette Dinnigan wins the immunity challenge on Celebrity MasterChef Australia with the judges praising her ‘death dish’

On Monday’s episode of Celebrity MasterChef Australia, the A-listers were tasked with creating their favourite comfort food.

And it Collette Dinnigan was who came out on top, with the fashion designer taking on the ‘death dish’ – risotto.

The rice dish is often an Achilles heel for contestants, with many getting the notoriously tricky meal wrong.

However, Colette delivered a delicious zucchini risotto with a side salad with tomato chilli relish.

Because she came first, she wins immunity from Sunday’s upcoming cooking challenge.

‘Well Collette, that is a perfect risotto. It’s al dente. The rice is beautifully cooked,’ judge Jock Zonfrillo said.

‘You went to that extra effort of making a really delicious stock. And what makes the zucchini flavour sing is that base stock.’

‘The risotto, the heart of this offering. It’s rich, but it also has a lot of lightness and acidity to it,’ judge Melissa Leong agreed.

‘The cheesiness is the perfect amount to highlight the flavour of the zucchini. So beautiful.’

‘Collette, there is nothing that I can fault on any of the three elements that you’ve put up,’ Judge Andy Allen said.

The designer was stunned at her victory, saying she had been ‘nervous’ about her choice.

‘Scary!’ she said of the judging process. ‘They told me most people get eliminated on risotto’.
