Desperate search for snowboarder and his 10-year-old daughter in Thredbo

Lost in Thredbo: Desperate search for a man and his daughter, 10, who went missing in ‘deep snow’ without their boards – as dad’s phone runs out of battery

A desperate search is underway for a man and his 10-year-old daughter who are lost in deep snow in Thredbo, New South Wales. 

The pair got separated from their group at around 3pm on Monday and are reportedly without their snowboards. 

The father rang emergency services – but his phone is fast running out of battery.  

‘Our hearts are in our mouths,’ said Ambulance NSW Superintendent Jordan Emery.

‘We’re really hopeful we’ll be able to locate them before the sun sets this evening’. 

As of 4.30pm, the temperature in Thredbo was -2.7 degrees Celsius with 3cm of snowfall in the past 24 hours.  

The sun sets at 5.30pm.  

It comes after a man died at Thredbo two days ago. He is believed to have struck a tree branch.
