Desperate search for boy, 8, who vanished from his bedroom late at night and has not been seen since

  • William Thompson, 8, last seen 8pm on Saturday in his western Sydney home
  • Parents reported him missing when he was not in his room on Sunday morning
  • Family and police hold concerns for his welfare due to his age

A desperate search is underway for a little boy who mysteriously disappeared from his bedroom overnight.

William Thompson, 8, was not in his bedroom at his home in Amalfi Street, Lurnea, in western Sydney when his parents awoke on Sunday morning.

He was last seen about 8pm on Saturday when he was tucked in to bed. His panicked parents reported him missing the next morning.

Family and police hold concerns for his welfare due to his age. 

William is described as being of Pacific Islander or Maori appearance, about 140-145cm tall, of thin build, with short dark hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing grey trackpants, a dark coloured zip up jacket and black joggers. 

He may also be carrying a black and grey backpack and a black sports bag with a New Zealand silver fern on it.
