A man has been charged with murder after he allegedly sawed his friend’s leg off as part of an ‘arrangement’.
The 36-year-old allegedly used a circular saw to amputate the leg of a 66-year-old man at Fitzgerald Park in Innisfail, Far North Queensland, at 4am on Saturday.

‘Police will allege these two people were known to each other, the nature of that relationship is forming part of our investigations,’ Detective Acting Inspector Gary Hunter said.
‘Police also believe there was an arrangement between the two people for the amputation of the leg.’
Detectives believe the men drove to the park together before 4am and sat under a tree.
About 20 minutes later, the 36-year-old allegedly cut the older man’s leg off under the knee before helping him back into the car and leaving on foot.
On Sunday, police found at a home in Innisfail at about 12pm on Sunday and charged him with one count of murder.
He will appear in court on Monday.
