Its listeners have been on the decline since the show made its debut in January 2016.

But audience isn’t the only thing which has diminished since the Em Rusciano Show made its debut.

Financial figures for Southern Cross Austereo shows the company’s metro revenue fell three per cent to $121.4 million from June to December 2017, Mumbrella reported on Friday.

In a statement to Mumbrella, Southern Cross Austereo CEO Grant Blackley said the dip in metro revenue was down to ‘the under-performance of 2Day FM breakfast’. 

Meanwhile profit also fell while Sam Frost and Rove McManus were on the air from July 2016 to December 2016.

During that period, Southern Cross Austereo’s net profit after tax declined 21.2 per cent from $48.5 million to $38.2 million.

It contrasts with the competition on KIIS FM, where the Kyle and Jackie O Show ended the year with an 11 per cent slice of listeners.  

Last November, Harley Breen resigned from 2Day FM’s breakfast show after less than a year.

Em last year slammed the current radio ratings system, telling The Daily Telegraph it was ‘archaic’ and failed to take into account digital downloads.   

‘I think there needs to be a better system than dropping a small amount of books in an area and averaging the numbers of whoever fills them out,’ she argued.  

The comedian also claimed on Facebook that her radio show was the ‘number one engaged breakfast radio show in Australia’ and they were ‘killing it’ when it came to social media.
