‘Did your fringe get in your eyes?!’: Furious A-League manager heckles linesman for a bad call by making fun of his hair cut… despite the official having it VERY short
- Western Sydney boss Jean-Paul de Marigny was not happy with the officials
- Marigny heckled the linesman about his ‘fringe getting in his eyes’ for a bad call
- However, it was sarcastic as linesman Owen Goldrick had short, receding hair
Western Sydney Wanderers manager Jean-Paul de Marigny was not happy at all with the linesman during the first half of their derby match against Sydney FC.
As the ball went out for a throw-in, Marigny ranted at linesman Owen Goldrick on his side with a sarcastic comment about his hairline. The 56-year-old, who is short of hair himself, proclaimed ‘did your fringe get in your eyes?!’ to the official who had flagged for a throw-in.
The camera then cuts to the linesman, who has a receding hairline with no ‘fringe’ in sight.

The BT Sport commentators found the comment amusing as they chuckled: ‘You’ll see when we give you a shot of Owen just how sarcastic Jean-Paul was being!’.
They then added: ‘That’s not very nice. Suppose, Jean-Paul can’t say much himself!’.
The match ended in a 1-1 draw with no spectators allowed in the stadium. Former Reading striker Adam le Fondre gave Sydney the lead before Kwame Yeboah scored a late equaliser.
