Diesel unveiled its spring/summer 2023 all-gender collection and broke a Guinness World Record with the world’s largest ever inflatable sculpture at their live runway show in Milan, Italy.
The show, which marked the start of Milan Fashion Week, was held at the Allianz Cloud Arena in front of a crowd of nearly 5,000, including Normani, Julia Fox, Evan Mock, Skepta and more.
‘I wanted to open Diesel up to the public, for people who may never have been to a fashion show before,’ said creative director, Glenn Martens.

Glenn added: ‘They deserve a spectacle, so we’ve broken the record for the biggest inflatable sculpture in the world. It’s what I believe about the fashion and the state of mind – everybody can be part of Diesel.’
Models in the show walked around the sensual inflatable sculpture, a depiction of lovers whose limbs were entangled in one another.
From the early days of its founding in 1978 by Renzo Rosso, Diesel has been an innovative international brand and a leader in the category.

The all-gender collection includes denim roughly embroidered with torn tulle, pieces trimmed with raw denim, as well as denim devoré tops and dresses

Denim devoré is created by weaving denim onto a transparent base, like the devoré corset waist of low-slung denim pants seen on the catwalk.
The highly innovative technique of solarising left utility pants with supersized pockets and other garments with an edgy ‘left out in the sun’ look.
Scans of distressed denim are featured on second-skin trompe-l’oeil prints.
For the perfect juxtaposition, acid floral slip dresses are trimmed with lace, as are tank minidresses with frill at the neck and arm.

Beyond apparel, the brand’s collections include accessories and a wide range of lifestyle collaborations.
Slip-on denim heels featuring utility pockets came down the catwalk, as did strappy sandals with sporty soles and patent boots.
Completing multiple looks were 1DR bags (medium or micro), D-vina bags brought to life with sparkling charms, or reimagined with a moulded D.
This season’s Diesel Eyewear collection is a special collaboration with EssilorLuxottica, including a limited edition style made exclusively for Diesel Runway with only 55 units made and available now through preorder.

Along with stars like Richie Shazam and Bianca Balti, over 3,000 attendees (70% being 18-25 years old) were members of the public.
Also in attendance were NFT collectors, who received a free ticket with the purchase of Diesel’s AW22 runway NFTs.
Every single guest of the larger-than-life event received a commemorative NFT.
