Early disaster for NSW as Tom Trbojevic comes off for good with serious pectoral injury – forcing hooker Damien Cook into the centres
New South Wales were dealt a huge early blow in Origin II as Tom Trbojevic was forced off the field with a pectoral injury just three minutes into the game at Suncorp Stadium
The Blues winger suffered the injury while trying to tackle Reece Walsh in a bid to prevent a Queensland try and walked off the field holding his right arm while visibly grimacing.
The Manly star was replaced by Damien Cook, who had been benched in favour of Origin debutant Reece Robson.
Shortly after Trbojevic’s departure, Nine sideline reporter Danika Mason confirmed he had suffered a pectoral muscle injury.

The injury is a huge setback for the Trbojevic and the Blues in their bid to level the series and could also have huge repercussions on Manly’s season.
Trbojevic previously torn his left pectoral muscle and the NRL Physio Twitter account noted he could face up to 14 weeks out.
‘The video brings concern for significant right pectoral tear,’ it said.
‘If scans confirm the worst case [rupture] would require surgery and 10-14 week recovery.’
