An AFL star has been slammed by fans and and legends of the game following a suspected eye-gouge during a tussle with an opponent.
Jed Lamb’s Carlton Blues were facing off against St Kilda at Etihad Stadium on Friday night when he pinned Saints star Jade Gresham to the ground.
The two players wrestled with one another as Gresham attempted to wriggle out from under Lamb’s weight, clutching him by the jersey.

Lamb (pictured) is now facing condemnation from fans and match officials alike following a suspected eye-gouge
Lamb continued to push down on Gresham and, in a video replay, appears to jam his finger into the St Kilda player’s eye.
Viewers took to social media to denounce Lamb over the act.
One Twitter user labelled him a ‘Textbook grub’, while another wrote ‘His [sic] an A grade flog!’
The Match Review Panel is looking into the incident between Lamb (pictured) and Gresham, with the AFL’s Match Review Officer Michael Christian set to rule on it on Saturday
Another tweeted: ‘Only just saw the replay, typical Jed Lamb though, the faster he’s delisted the better. Nothing but a local footy thug.’
‘Give Jed Lamb a life ban,’ yet another noted.
The Match Review Panel is looking into the incident, and is set to rule on it on Saturday.
St Kilda easily encountered for bottom placed Carlton in Friday night’s match.
