Frozen fans can expect an ice palace, a snow-capped mountain and a stunning lake in a brand new land set to open at Disneyland Paris based on the movies.

The new Arendelle-themed area will be located in an extension of the Walt Disney Studios Park and is due to open in 2023.

And concept art has revealed what the ‘fully immersive’ land will look like, with Disney promising it will also have an ‘attraction that will take guests to the centre of the kingdom’.

The area will also include a new restaurant and shop and give guests the chance to meet with characters from the movies, such as Anna and Elsa.

Disney explained: ‘As part of the fully immersive land, guests will see the snow-capped mountain of Arendelle in the distance opposite a magnificent lake.

‘The area will also include character encounters, a new restaurant and a shop securing a permanent presence of this beloved franchise at Disneyland Paris.’

Meanwhile, OutsidEars, a Twitter account that describes itself as ‘unofficial media for Disneyland Paris’, posted what it claims are blueprints for the land.

Tweeting in French, the account said: ‘We know you were waiting for them, here are the first shots of the future resort of Anna and Elsa at #WaltDisneyStudios at #DisneylandParis.

‘Known today as “Frozen Land”, this new area will consist of an aquatic attraction, sister of the one under construction in Hong Kong Disneyland, two shops as well as a restaurant and a meeting place with two queens of Arendelle. #Insidears.’

It was announced in 2018 that Disney had invested two billion euros (£1.68bn/$2.1bn) in its Paris resort for the extension that will also see Marvel and Star Wars attractions created.

Disneyland Paris sits on a 2,230-hectare site about 20 miles east of the French capital.

With more than 320 million visitors passing through its turnstiles since 1992, the park accounts for 6.2 per cent of France’s tourism income and has been a boon for local employment, employing some 16,000 staff.

Disneyland Paris comprises two theme parks – the fairytale-themed Disneyland Park and the Walt Disney Studios Park. Its seven hotels have some 5,800 bedrooms, two convention centres and a golf course.
