She then might spray paint other items that won’t come into contact with food or cooking, in a very simple way:

‘I don’t do any prep work, I don’t use any particular type of paint – just whatever I can find – and I literally point and spray,’ she said.

FRIDGE/FREEZER

When it comes to her fridge, Iryna’s lifesavers are Oxo Greensavers from Peters of Kensington, which she uses to look after her fruit and vegetables.

She pairs these with colourful glass Match Up containers, which the blogger and expert finds to be a neat, tidy and aesthetically-pleasing way of storing her leftovers.

‘A mixture of mine are “thermoglass” which also means they are oven safe and can be used to re-heat leftovers,’ she explained.

‘I don’t meal prep or pre-chop any vegetables ahead of time unless I know we have a busy night; in which case, I’ll only do it on the morning of,’ Iryna added.

Iryna also picked up super-cheap baskets for her cripser for 50 cents each from Kmart and uses containers from Howards Storage World in her freezer (pictured)

One of Iryna’s top secrets is that she will keep her herbs in the fridge in a vase of water, as this is said to keep them fresher for longer:

‘[I do this] for no reason other than because my mum and mum in law have both done it and it seems to keep them fresh when it’s hot outside,’ Iryna said.

‘I just keep in them plain water and recycled vases.’

In her freezer, she uses Zac containers from Howards Storage World and added that it is possible to freeze potatoes if you have too many:

‘Think wedges, but homemade,’ she said.

LINEN CLOSET

In her linen closet, Iryna is a fan of keeping things crisp, white and looking and smelling good.

Iryna said she will pick a specific type of towel and then stick with it – rather than using a variety of different sizes and textures.

Ms Federico said one of her top tips is picking a favourite towel she likes and sticking with it, rather than using a variety of different sizes and textures.

‘Having the same sized main towel makes it so much easier to fold the same way each time,’ she explained.

The stylish 28-year-old also suggests throwing out or re-purposing all ‘old and crusty towels’ and teaching all members of the household to fold towels the exact same way.

‘Figure out the best and easiest way to fold them so they fit the dedicated space nicely,’ she said.

She also revealed how she keeps the linen cupboard smelling fresh at all times.

‘Put a diffuser in there – I found a tiny “fresh linen” diffuser at Target and it smelled heavenly,’ she said.

‘The scent gets absorbed into the fabric and makes everything smell freshly washed even if it was cleaned months ago.’
