DIY Hair Mask: Aloe Vera for Beach Waves

Canadian beauty vlogger Farah Dhukai is known for sharing unconventional beauty hacks with her 5.7 million Instagram followers and 1.8 million YouTube subscribers.

In her YouTube bio, she even calls out her affinity for trying do-it-yourself beauty remedies, writing, ‘I mostly love taking things from my kitchen and using them as a DIY face, hair or body mask.’

She’s come under fire from experts in the past for claiming that wasabi can clear up whiteheads and plump lips and Pepto-Bismol can make pores practically disappear, but her latest trick appears to have fewer potential repercussions.

In a video post on Instagram, the beauty guru demonstrates how she uses aloe vera and sweet orange essential oil to achieve shiny, wavy hair and hydrated skin for only $3.

It takes just 2 ingredients and is as little as $3.00 and it’ll TRANSFORM your hair and skin!! You’ll get the shiniest, softest, frizz-free hair of all time (and you’ll be “on trend” with the wet hair look) and your skin will be so hydrated and bright and clear!! hOwW?!?’

She went on to break down the ingredients and instructions.

You can apply as much of the spray as you want to both your hair, continued Farah, and it won’t make it look greasy.

‘It gives you a shiny, wet hair, wavy look that’s been so trendy lately!! YES FOR TAKING CARE OF YOUR HAIR AND FASHION AT THE SAME D*** TIME!!!’

The spray can also be used as a serum or moisturizer for your face, Farah added. ‘It clears up dry skin, blemishes and dark spots!!! ALOE is called the IMMORTALITY PLANT for a reason!!!!’

Any extra product can be stored in the fridge for up to two weeks, and Farah recommends doing a patch test on both your skin and hair before applying fully.
