According to Vogue, the ceremony took place on the patio, overlooking the rock ridges and sand dunes of the resort, beneath pillars draped with flowers.

The aisle was concrete and stretched across mirrored archways that reflected the desert.

Annika’s dresses were Oscar de la Renta and Berta.

She told the fashion tome: ‘Originally, I wanted to wear the Oscar during the ceremony and the Berta for the after-party. But after going back a few times for tailoring, I switched it around.’

Her husband went for a Tom Ford suit – basing his look on his favourite movie character, James Bond.

Of the day, Tiësto said: ‘I felt overwhelmed with emotions because we have been in love for so long and thinking about this day forever, and then it was finally here. It was more beautiful and more special than I could have ever imagined.’

The pools in the resort were decorated with floating candles for the event and the dinner saw guests sat at two long black tables, with chiffon cloths.

The reception took place where the vows were exchanged, but transformed into a nightclub, where DJ Coleman played a song for the bride that her new husband has written and produced especially, called A Million Years.
