And despite rocking her incredible figure on stages around the world, Dara Hayes – or as she’s better known Dr Tigerlily – hasn’t always been so confident in her own skin.
‘I haven’t always had a good relationship with body image and eating in the past,’ she told FEMAIL.

‘It has only been in the past two or three years that I can confidently say I’ve worked through it.’
In high school the bubbly blonde would yo-yo from 50 kilos up to 65 kilos and back down again. Despite knowing how unhealthy that was for her body physically, negative thoughts ‘consumed her attention’.
At the start of her final year at school, Dara went to her mum ‘in tears questioning how she can focus on study when she was consumed by this voice in her head.’

‘I went and got some hypnotherapy which helped tremendously. It was the best thing I could have done at the time.
‘The one thing about eating disorders and body image is that everyone’s journey is going to be different. This means that all the different treatment options are going to work differently for different people.
‘I would encourage people to trial and error and just find the one that works best for them.’

She credits weight training as the ‘secret weapon’ for fighting off any feelings of negative self image.
‘Weight training has made me feel fitter, healthier and stronger. I eat way more now because my metabolic rate is much higher and I look more toned and healthy.
