Doctor, 34, falls to his death from Ibiza cliff while on sightseeing trip with his fiancée

A New Jersey doctor has fallen to his death while on vacation in Spain with his fiancée after he ‘slipped trying to take a picture of the beach’ during sightseeing trip, according to his devastated loved ones.

Daniel Sirovich, 34, lost his footing while on a hiking a trail near a cliff in Ibiza with his partner Kristi Kelly, 28, before falling 82 foot.

An off-duty nurse at the scene attempted to save his life and he was airlifted to hospital but the medic, who was due to start his dream job in Boston in less than two weeks time, could not be saved.

The couple, who met seven years ago, had only been in the country after a music festival in Britain was called off due to bad weather, NJ.com reports.

Days before his death Danny posted on Facebook that he was heading to Ibiza, writing: ‘When life throws you rain and wind you find a sunny place and to dance together with some amazing people.’

Kristi’s mother, Mary Ann Kelly, said: ‘It’s a horrible end to a beautiful romance. They studied together, they lived together, they traveled the world together and their whole goal was to heal people.

‘They traveled the world, the two of them. All they were concerned about was getting their education and saving lives.’

She said Sirovich, who was originally from Brazil and had studied at Rutgers University, was ‘the most beautiful soul you’ve ever met’.

The couple were due to be married next year after Sirovich, who had been working at the Kendall Regional Medical Center in Miami, Florida, proposed in Germany in 2016.

A GoFundMe page set up by his friend Gui Ramos to ‘help to raise enough money to fly his body back home and for a proper funeral’ has reached donations totaling more than $40,000.

The fundraising page created on Thursday reads: ‘Yesterday, Danny and his fiance were sightseeing near a cliff in sa Pedrera de Cala d’Hort in Ibiza, where he slipped and fell 82 ft… taking his life away.

‘Danny was, by far, the person with the most life that we had the pleasure to meet.

The post goes on: ‘He gave 120% in everything he did, from his studies, to work, to loving Kristi, his family, and friends. To living life to the fullest and truly enjoying each and every moment, seeing the whole world and appreciating every detail in music.

‘He sacrificed 16 years of his life into his studies & work (where he finished top of his class in medical school), finally reaching his life’s ultimate goal this year.

‘Where he was moving to Boston in 10 days for the position he waited so long for, to be a Doctor in the intensive care trauma unit. Someone who saved many lives and didn’t receive the opportunity to have someone save his.’
