Doctor Who icons David Tennant and Peter Capaldi attend screening

They both made a name for themselves after taking on the iconic role of The Doctor in the hit sci-fi series Doctor Who.

And David Tennant, 46, and Peter Capaldi, 59, looked right at home in each other’s company as they crossed paths at a special screening of the former’s new film You, Me And Him at the Charlotte Street Hotel in London on Thursday.

Dressed sharply for the one-off event in a sleek black coat and a blue jumper Peter looked dapper as he stood alongside his fellow ‘Doctor’ David, who opted for more comfortable attire as he stepped out in jeans and a long-sleeved shirt.

Is there a doctor in the house? David Tennant and Peter Capaldi reunited in London for special screening of the former’s new indie film You Me And Him on Thursday

Sporting fiery red locks for his new role in the Amazon Prime adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s Good Omens, David looked handsome with a close-cut beard.

David seemed relaxed as he spent time with his successor, whose grey locks were brushed back over his head for his trademark look, and the pair were spotted in a fit of laughter at the event.

The Jessica Jones actor completed his casual look with a pair of white trainers which featured a black, green and yellow stripe on each side to match the bold orange stripe on his shirt.

The comedy explores the relationship between a lesbian couple who are forced to deal with an unexpected pregnancy when they both end up pregnant after a tumultuous drunken night with their neighbour John, played by Tennant.

In the role of the charismatic father-to-be that becomes part of their family, David is a far cry away from the character he became synonymous for as he rocks a man-bun and bushy beard.

The Broadchurch star is joined in the film by Lucy Punch, 40, and Pride actress Faye Marsay, 31, who take on the roles of couple Olivia (Lucy) and Alex (Faye), as well as former ‘Doctor’ -and David’s father-in-law-Peter Davison.

At the event David was also joined by his wife Georgia Moffett, 33, and her son Ty Tennant, 16, whom David adopted when the pair got married in 2011.

The actresses blonde tresses were styled in loose waves, while her natural beauty shined as she brushed on just a touch of make-up for the screening.

The pair’s son, who is currently training to be an actor, cut a casual figure in an all-black outfit as he donned a velvet top over dark jeans, and wrapped a black-and-white plaid jumper over his waist.

New project: Also at the event with David was the film's director Daisy Aitkens (left), 32, who has previously worked with the Doctor Who star on the short film 96 Ways To Say I Love You
