Doctors are stunned by a Perth teenager’s miraculous recovery after he fell from a five storey balcony and landed on his face.

Noah Bahigwa’s skull was smashed into pieces leaving medical staff uncertain if the 16-year-old would make it, 7 News reported.

‘His bruised brain was actually leaking out through a hole at the base of his skull and out his nasal passage,’ Royal Perth Hospital neurosurgeon Dr Arul Bala said.

‘He landed onto his face, mainly onto the right side of his face and eye socket so that took the vast majority of the force of the fall.’

While staying on Mounts Bay Road the teen was injured when he attempted to climb up to an apartment.

‘When I got to the fifth floor, I slipped and just hit the ground,’ Noah Bahigwa said.

The teenager now feels very, very lucky, believing he was in God’s hands.

He was unable to breathe on his own as doctors worked tirelessly to keep him alive, and it took four days before he would  open his eyes again.

Now he is working to get his brain working as normal through extensive rehabilitation.

Noah is still unable to see out of his left eye and doctors are unclear if the vision will return.

His mother however is purely happy that her son is alive.

He now feels very, very lucky, believing God played a role in his survival - his mother is just glad he is alive
