Dog the Bounty Hunter is joining the manhunt for the Pennsylvania fugitive accused of threatening President Donald Trump and other elected officials.

On Wednesday, Duane ‘Dog’ Chapman said that a friend of Shawn Christy’s family has retained his services, asking him to track down the 27-year-old self-proclaimed survivalist who has been on the run from the authorities for nearly four months.

A federal warrant was issued on June 19 for Christy in connection to Facebook threats against Northampton County’s district attorney, alleging that he posted: ‘I promise I’ll put a bullet in your head as soon as I put one in the head of President Donald J Trump.’

Christy has made additional threats against former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin an d Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer.

The suspect is also wanted in Pennsylvania on arrest warrants for burglary, probation violation, and failure to appear in court for an aggravated assault case.

Chapman, who has worked as a bounty hunter for 45 years, told the Mansfield News Journal he has passed on messages to the fugitive and that his goal is to find Christy and have him peacefully surrender.

‘I have a very hot lead,’ the 65-year-old former star of the reality show Dog the Bounty Hunter boasted to the paper.

Chapman, who resides in Hawaii with his wife, Beth, plans to travel next Thursday to Mansfield, Ohio, where Christy was last seen on September 16, when he crashed a truck he had allegedly stolen from a business in Pennsylvania the previous weekend.

Ohio State Highway Patrol recovered the white 2002 GMC utility truck with Pennsylvania registration after the crash.

Christy had fled the scene on foot and is believed to still be hiding in the area.

Chapmans said he suspects Christy wrecked the vehicle because he had dozed off behind the wheel. He does not think the wanted man in armed.

The veteran bounty hunter was heading to Mansfield anyway to host a town hall event dedicated to addiction and recovery on September 28.

Police have warned all residents in the Mansfield area to use caution and keep their homes and cars locked.

US Marshals issued a statement about Christy on Sunday, saying he had stolen the truck along with food, money and a shotgun the night before from the Skitco Iron Works in Hazle Township, Pennsylvania.

The McAdoo man is believed to have burglarized the same business on September 5.

A federal warrant was issued for Christy’s arrest in June after he allegedly threatened a Northhampton County district attorney by writing in a Facebook post: ‘I promise I’ll put a bullet in your head as soon as I put one in the head of President Donald J Trump’

Christy’s parents said last week that he had sent a Facebook message to them saying he ‘was slowed down a bit’ after he may have broken his knee during a Maryland ‘getaway’.

The message ends: ‘Stay safe, I have a mission to complete.’

Federal authorities have asked for help for the public, offering a reward of up to $20,000, but warn that Christy should be considered armed and dangerous.

He is described as a white male with a white complexion, short dark-blonde hair and a beard, standing at 5’10” and weighing approximately 160lbs.

Christy has a tattoo of a cross on his right upper arm and speaks with a notable lisp.
