Dog waits patiently to eat chicken nuggets balanced on its body

This is the adorable moment a patient Labrador balances chicken nuggets on his body until his owner gives him the command to scoff them.

The dog, named Dunkin, is so well trained that he even manages to hold one of the chicken treats in his mouth before he’s given the go-ahead.

His owner Hayley, 15 from New York, said that she is always challenging Dunkin to hold different objects.

From tennis balls to eggs, the clever three-year-old silver Labrador manages to hold items long enough for his owner to snap a picture.

Hayley said: ‘I started balancing things on him five months ago.

‘At first I trained him as a sit and stay exercise to balance food on his nose and body.

‘Then I progressed to putting food in his mouth to hold.

‘The first time I tried a piece of pancake, which he ate right away. But when I gave him another piece, I said, ‘Hold it’ and ‘Stay’ and used the clicker.

‘From then on he understood the command.

‘He’s a very quick learner.’

The hound, who was rescued at 8 weeks old, is so smart, he can even load the dishwasher, retrieve drinks from the fridge and take out the trash.

Now his incredible stunts are posted to Instagram where more than 12,000 followers have been checking in on the talented dog’s progress.

Haley, who works at an animal shelter with her parents Kathy, 51 and Robert, 56, is currently training Dunkin to do ‘doga’ (dog yoga).

Once Dunkin was given the command he shot straight for the tasty chicken nuggets which had been balanced on his body
