This crafty canine thought it was committing the perfect crime when attempting to steal four cookies from the oven top.
But after the owner heard a clanging sound and raced over, the dog appeared not to have bee as subtle as once thought in this hilarious video.
Slowly approaching the oven, a spatula can be seen lying on the floor and after inspecting the oven tray four cookies appeared to have mysteriously disappeared.
Instead of three rows of treats, a whole line of cookies was missing and another appeared to have a chunk bitten out of it.
Looking down at her dog, the owner soon knew who the cookie thief was.
Sheepishly staring away, the dog avoids looking into its owner’s eyes, yawns and appears to investigate something else along the side of the kitchen.
But it was game over for this pesky pooch, because the stove grid was hooked onto its collar.

The amusing video that was shared on Twitter on Monday has already received two million views in less than 24 hours.
It had also been retweeted a further 25,000 times and liked over 106,000 on the social media platform.
The clip did not reveal the identity of the woman, nor the state where she was from and the audio was silenced.
Some viewers laughed hysterically at the dogs’s attempt to cover its tracks, while other doubted the pet’s guilt in a series of tweets.
User MickMack wrote: ‘Luckily, that dog with the huge collar ornament was there to scare off whoever stole the cookies. What a good boy!’
Eric Alan, referencing the famous statement used during the O.J. Simpson trial, posted: ‘If the glove don’t fit you must acquit!
‘Seriously, that is a good reason to get a breakaway collar for your dog if they are known for mischief,’ he added. ‘Luckily that price broke away. If someone was not there, his struggle to get loose could have caused disaster.’
