Domino’s releases first ever chocolate dessert pizza

Move over cheese, step aside pepperoni, there’s a new pizza in town – and it’s got something a little sweeter to give us.

Domino’s has released its first ever dessert pizza – a decadent chocolate concoction that packs a whopping 1,822 calories.

The Chocoholic Dessert Pizza has a milk chocolate base and is topped with chocolate brownie chunks, mini marshmallows, and white and milk chocolate and buttons.

Drizzled over each slice of the $9.95 pizza is a rich chocolate fudge sauce, with a dusting of icing sugar to top it all off.

Domino’s has released its first ever dessert pizza in Australia on Monday. The Chocoholic Dessert Pizza costs $9.95 and contains a whopping 1,822 calories

Nick Knight, Domino’s CEO Australia and New Zealand, revealed that the pizza was created in the company’s LuvLab development kitchen in response to growing demand from Australian customers.

‘We haven’t had a dessert pizza on offer at Domino’s in Australia since we launched more than 30 years ago,’ he said.

‘We are excited about today’s launch – this is a premium product that is going to meet the highest standards of chocoholics around the country.’

The Chocoholic Dessert Pizza launched Monday – the same day Domino’s unveiled its new Free Your Flavour menu.

Avocado, chorizo, and fire-roasted peppers are among the new ingredients available on the menu.

Also available on the menu is Domino’s new New Yorker range, which promises New York-style pizza with three times the amount of cheese as a regular pie.

The range includes five 16-inch pizzas: The Big Pepperoni, The Big Cheese, The Big Sausage and Cheese, The Big Pepperoni and Sausage, and The Big Pepperoni, Sausage, and Mushroom.

And Knight promised these wouldn’t be anything like the ‘usual Domino’s pizza’.

‘Our new authentic New Yorker range will be so loaded with cheese, consist of softer dough and include slices so big, you need to fold them before taking a bite,’ Knight said.

‘Our customers have told us they want more choice. The New Yorker range is ideal for feeding a crowd and is the perfect social sharing food in the lead up to the festive season.’
