Don Cheadle poked fun at the Primetime Emmy nomination he received from a 98-second scene in Falcon And The Winter Soldier.

 The 56-year-old actor was recognized in the outstanding guest actor in a drama series category for his brief work reprising his role as Colonel James Rupert ‘Rhodey’ Rhodes AKA War Machine in episode one of the Disney+ series.

Shortly after learning of the nod, Cheadle took to Twitter to hilariously post: ‘thanks, well wishers. sorry, haters. agreed, [shrugging emoji]ers. i don’t really get it either. buuuuuuuuuut on we go…’

He starred in the scene opposite leading man Anthony Mackie who plays Sam Wilson AKA Falcon AKA Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but did not receive a nomination.

Carl Lumbly, 69, starred as African-American Korean War veteran and super soldier imprisoned for 30 years, Isiah Bradley, over a few episodes and many fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe series were not pleased that his riveting performance was overlooked.

Cheadle has starred as Rhodes/War Machine since 2010’s Iron Man 2 and reprised the role over 7 films in the MCU before his short stint on Falcon And The Winter Soldier.

Perhaps his less than two minute appearance could be his first win at the event as he has been nominated ten times previously including for his work on ER, House Of Lies, and most recently Black Monday.
