Billionaire businessman Donald Sterling made a rare public outing on Wednesday with his estranged wife Shelly.

The former NBA owner was photographed as he left Nobu in Malibu with his wife of 63 years, who he had filed for divorce from in 2015 before deciding to withdraw the papers a year later after the two resolved their differences.

The Sterlings were less than thrilled to see photographers when they left the restaurant, with the two hiding behind newspapers as Shelly drove them off in a $65,000 2018 Mercedes Benz GLC.

Both were outfitted in all black, with Shelly wearing a $540 Moncler vest and Sterling seen peeling off $100 bills as he walked towards the valet.

Sterling has been concentrating on his real estate endeavors these days after being booted out of the NBA and forced to sell the Los Angeles Clippers.

Sterling filed a $1billion lawsuit against the NBA back in 2014 after the league banned him for life and forced him to sell the Clippers when tapes emerged of him making racist comments.

The team was also fined $2.5million after the incident.

He had been speaking to his mistress V. Stiviano at the time, and told her after she posted a photo of herself on Instagram; ‘It bothers me a lot that you want to broadcast that you’re associating with black people.’

The recording was made in September 2013 and released in April 2014 – one month after Sterling’s wife Shelley sued Stiviano demanding that she return gifts her husband had given her including a $1.8 million duplex, a Ferrari, two Bentleys and a Range Rover.

After Sterling was banned, Shelly was put in charge of selling the Clippers and made a record-setting deal with former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, who bought the team for $2 billion.

Despite that fact, Sterling blasted the sale in court papers obtained and called his wife an ‘inexperienced business person.’

Shelley was a defendant in the NBA lawsuit at the time alongside the league’s current and former commissioners, Adam Silver and David Stern.

She has since said that her husband should not be banned from the league.

Sterling filed for divorce from Shelly in August of 2015, and at one point referred to her as a ‘pig’ in court.

The couple grew close again however after they testified together during Shelly’s lawsuit against V. Stiviano.

The two spoke about their enduring love for each other and even displayed cards they gave each other for anniversaries and birthdays – all in a bid to win back their millions.

Shelly claimed in court papers that Stiviano was taking advantage of her husband and that since the two were still married he had no right to give his mistress lavish gifts with their money, which was community property.

The Sterlings won that case, and Stiviano was forced to pay them back $2.6million.
