Donald Trump blames Kellyanne Conway for ‘crazy’ husband George

President Trump blamed Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway for her ‘crazy’ husband George’s rabid anti-Trumpism during a morning call-in to ‘Fox & Friends.’

‘Well, first of all, Kellyanne is great, but she’s married to a total whack job. I think she must have done some number on him,’ Trump said. ‘I don’t know what Kellyanne did to that guy.’

George Conway came up because he had been warring online with former U.N. Amb. Nikki Haley, stroking speculation that she was defending Trump in order to grab the vice presidential slot from Mike Pence on the 2020 GOP ticket.

In the past, Kellyanne Conway has chewed out a reporter for including coverage of her husband's anti-Trump tweets in news stories about her

Co-host Ainsley Earhardt had asked Trump if Pence would indeed be his running mate next year.

Trump’s response started with a dig at George Conway.

He said he didn’t even know the guy. ‘I’ve met him for seconds,’ Trump said.

‘He’s got to be some kind of nut job,’ the president continued. ‘She must have done some bad things to him because this guy is crazy.’

Trump then assured the host that Pence is ‘our man, 100 percent.’

‘Nikki will absolutely be involved. She’s a friend of mine She endorsed me with the most beautiful endorsement you’ve ever heard. She did a great job at the U.N. … But Nikki will be back in some form because she’s great and she’s my friend.’

Trump said he was familiar with the rumor that he was going to ditch Pence.

‘It keeps you know, popping up’,’ the president commented. ‘He’s our guy. He’s my friend. And look, we have a great team,’ Trump said of Pence.

In October, Conway was caught on tape by a Washington Examiner reporter taking offense to that journalist’s inclusion of George in a piece she had written about Kellyanne Conway possibly being promoted to White House chief of staff.

‘So I just am wondering why in God’s earth you would need to mention anything about George Conway’s tweets in an article that talks about me as possibly being chief of staff,’ the counselor to the president asked reporter Caitlin Yilek. ‘Other than it looks to me like there’s no original reporting here, you just read Twitter and other people’s stuff, which I guess is why you don’t pick up phone when people call from the White House because, it it’s not on Twitter or it’s not on cable TV, it’s not real.’

Conway kept going.

‘Let me tell you something, from a powerful woman. Don’t pull the crap where you’re trying to undercut another woman based on who she’s married to,’ Conway said. ‘He gets his power through me, if you haven’t noticed.’

Earlier this week, George Conway went after Haley for calling Trump truthful.

‘Oh, @NikkiHaley, just the other day you said that the world’s biggest pathological liar, @realDonaldTrump, was a “truthful” man. *That’s* the very essence of disgusting, trashy, and pathetic—utterly shameless and transparent dishonesty,’ George Conway tweeted.

He then tweeted that Haley would say ‘anything to get the vice-presidential nomination.’

Friday on Twitter, George Conway called Trump a ‘malignant narcissist.’

He also pinned his Atlantic piece from early October to the top of his Twitter feed, commenting, ‘Hey, @realDonaldTrump, if you want to learn about a real wack job, read this. Or have someone read it to you and tell you what the big words mean.’
