Donald Trump says he wants to be Dean Cain’s ‘understudy’ in FBI lovers play

Superman actor Dean Cain and Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Kristy Swanson were given ovations at conservative get-together CPAC Thursday for reading out texts between the FBI lovers Lisa Page and Peter Strzok.

The two – rare conservatives in Hollywood – put on a version of their ‘play’ about the anti-Trump exchanges between the two for the conference, after spending 45 minutes in the Oval Office discussing it with the president.

Ann McElhinney, one of the producers, told the crowd to laughter that Trump ‘loves the play.’

Cain then said: ‘He said he’d be my understudy.’

Real version: Unusually for a Hollywood version of reality, the actors playing Peter Strzok and Lisa Page are significantly older than the real-life versions. Cain is 53 and Strzok is 49; Swanson is 50 while Page is 40

The two actors have crowdfunded for the play, and asked donors to fund his trip from Los Angeles to CPAC, which is held just outside Washington D.C.

Cain described the lovers as ‘arrogant’ and Strzok as someone who ‘thinks of himself as superman – even though that he is doing is so biased against the constitution.’

Cain, 53, has recently appeared in a series of faith-based films and has a movie with Swanson in post-production called A Parent’s Worst Nightmare featuring ‘multiple real life events of sex trafficking.’

Swanson called the two ‘arrogant, arrogant, arrogant.’  Swanson, 50, most recently appeared in three episodes of CBS’ SEAL Team and has had roles in a Lifetime and Hallmark movie.

The ‘play’ uses the format known as ‘verbatim theater,’ which sees real-life words read out by actors to construct a narrative.

CPAC delegates cheered and laughed when Cain and Swanson read out some of the best-known of the messages Strzok and Page exchanged during their affair.

Both of them are suing the DOJ and FBI, Page for invasion of privacy by having the messages published, and Strzok for his firing.

Both have denied that they acted against Trump as part of a conspiracy and Page has told how being tweeted about repeatedly by the president has traumatized her.

Their affair became public in July 2017, when he was removed from Robert Mueller’s special counsel after the texts came to light.

They included Page saying ‘he’s not ever going to become president, right? Right?!’

Strzok responded: ‘No. No he won’t. We’ll stop it.’

Another which has become a focal point for Trump and his supporters saw Strzok tell page: ‘I want to believe the path you threw out for consideration in Andy’s office that there’s no way Trump gets elected—but I’m afraid we can’t take that risk. It’s like an insurance policy in the unlikely event you die before you’re 40.’

Andy was Andrew McCabe, who was deputy director of the FBI at the time, was also fired by Trump’s DOJ, and is now suing. An attempt to prosecute him was ditched two hours before a judge’s warning that the prosecution was like ‘a banana republic’ was made public.

The Oval Office meeting was part of a packed schedule of time with supporters for Trump as his vice president convened the first meeting of the coronavirusa task force, Wall Street plunged and 8,400 people were revealed to be being monitored for the virus in California.

After time with the actors, he hosted a number of his prominent black supporters in the Cabinet Room including Diamond and Silk, Turning Point USA’s Candace Owens and ex-‘Grey’s Anatomy’ actor Isaiah Washington.

It’s unclear whether Trump addressed the coronavirus during his first meeting, but during his second, he told the group: ‘I think it’s an incredible achievement what our county’s done.’

He and first lady Melania Trump hosted ‘hundreds of African American leaders’ for an African American History Month reception at the White House Thursday night.

There, he had attendees go around the room and introduce themselves.

Many of them had nice things to say about Trump. But Trump had not-so-nice things to say about the ‘fake news,’ even going as far to call NBC News ‘racist,’ according to the White House pool report.

He said the press was out of line for asking about the 1,200 point Dow drop.  Trump then also talked about how much bigger his rallies were than those of Elizabeth Warren, calling her ‘Pocahontas’ in front of the crowd.

And then he griped that Joe Biden can gaffe all the time and he can’t.

‘I never get credit for anything,’ the president said.
