‘Don’t talk s***!’: Neymar hits back at critics of ex-Brazil boss Tite after World Cup elimination

‘Don’t talk s***!’: Neymar hits back at critics of departing Brazil boss Tite after World Cup elimination to Croatia… after his former agent claimed the Selecao boss ‘spent years deceiving the people’

Brazil star Neymar has hit back at critics of national team boss Tite after his former agent claimed the 61-year-old ‘was never a football coach’.

The Selecao were dumped out of the World Cup quarter-finals after a penalty shootout defeat against Croatia, which then saw Tite step down from his position after six years in charge.

The coach received harsh criticism after their elimination – including from Neymar’s former agent Wagner Ribeiro – but the PSG star has jumped to his former coach’s defense.

Ribeiro managed Neymar’s business affairs when the forward joined Barcelona from Santos in 2013 but does not currently manage the winger.

In a post on Instagram, Ribeiro shared a picture of Tite with the caption: ‘This gentleman was never a football coach. He spent years deceiving the people, losing 2 cups. He’s only fit to be valedictorian of the graduating class.’

Neymar quickly hit-back at his former agent and commented on the post: ‘Don’t talk s*** Wagner!’

The comment appeared just a few hours after Brazil had been dumped out of the World Cup, after Rodrygo and Marquinhos saw penalties saved in the shootout against Croatia.

Neymar thought he had saved the day for his side after scoring in the 105th minute of the game, only to see his effort levelled by Bruno Petkovic’s effort.

It proved to be an emotional moment for Neymar, who was in tears on the pitch, and he refused to confirm his international future after the game.

Neymar told reporters: ‘Honestly, I do not know. I think talking now is bad because of the heat of the moment. Maybe I’m not thinking straight.

‘To say that this is the end would be rushing myself, but I don’t guarantee anything either. Let’s see what happens going forward.’

A heartbreaking clip emerged after the game showing Neymar in tears after his side were dumped out of the World Cup.
