A hapless delivery driver was caught on doorbell camera sprinting to catch his runaway car after he forgot to put it in park when he dropped off food.

Footage shows the DoorDash driver striding towards Brandon Ensing’s front door in Fort Collins, Colorado, bearing two takeout bags of Buffalo Wild Wings.

He is utterly unaware that behind him his car is slowly rolling down the road.

In the minute-long clip, on July 24, the driver can be seen turning a corner at the house as the car continues out of shot.

The camera then captures his shocked reaction as Ensing alerts him to the runaway vehicle.   

He swivels around and pauses before calmly handing over the remaining bag of food.

Ensing, who watched the drama unfold on his phone before meeting the driver at the door, reiterates: ‘You might want to go grab it, your car is rolling away.’

As the delivery driver turns around and breaks into a run, he mutters: ‘Shut up!’

He quickly swivels around and breaks into a run as he tries to catch the runaway vehicle

He makes it around the corner, sees his car wasn’t left in park, and breaks out into a sprint as he chases after the runaway vehicle.

After sharing the footage on TikTok, Brandon’s clip has now garnered more than 600,000 views in four days. 

Fortunately, the driver managed to avoid an expensive bill as he reached his car in time before any damage was done.
