What is collagen?

* Collagen is the most abundant protein in your body, accounting for about a third of its protein composition.

* It’s one of the major building blocks of bones, skin, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Collagen is also found in many other body parts, including blood vessels, corneas, and teeth.

* Many think of it as the ‘glue’ that holds our body together.

* There are at least 16 different types of collagen, and your body makes procollagen by combining two amino acids: glycine and proline.

* Collagen is found in the connective tissues of animal foods, like chicken and pork skin.

* Collagen peptide comes in a powder that can be incorporated into foods.

* The peptide form doesn’t gel, so you can mix it into smoothies, soups or baking without affecting texture.

So what is Dose & Co and what makes the products so special?

Born as the result of many years working in nutrition, founder Libby Matthews said she wanted to create ‘clean, great tasting, high-dose collagen products at an accessible price point’.

‘Our intent with the brand has always been to help people look and feel better, pure and simple,’ Libby told FEMAIL.

‘Our expectations have been completely blown away with how fast it has grown.’

Collagen is the most abundant protein in your body, accounting for about a third of its protein composition and it’s one of the major building blocks of bones, skin, muscles, tendons, and ligaments.

Many describe it as the ‘glue’ which holds everything in our body together, and while we do produce it naturally, products that contain collagen or help you produce more naturally have become increasingly popular in recent years.

‘All Dose & Co products contain a high dose of 10 grams (10,000mg) of collagen per serving.

‘This means you’ll get results fast!’ Libby explained.

‘When you begin supplementing with collagen, you are providing your body with a dose of amino acids, vitamins, minerals, and collagen molecules.

‘Your body then takes these and delivers them throughout the bodies systems to form new collagen.’

At present, the Dose & Co range includes an array of products including vanilla and caramel-flavoured coffee creamer, chocolate fudge protein powder, creamy vanilla protein powder and pure bovine collagen powder.

The prices range between $34.99 and $51.99, and all of the products have an impressive five star rating, with a host of glowing reviews.

‘This goes in my coffee every single morning without fail and has improved my skin, helped take away the eczema on my hands, lessened the appearance of stretch marks, and made my hair grow and thicken!’ one woman posted.

‘Noticed visual results in nail growth and strength in a week and it definitely has helped grow baby hairs and skin health has improved,’ another added.

Others said the products have helped them with their energy levels, while also curbing sugar cravings throughout the day.

Khloe Kardashian isn’t the only high-profile fan.

Closer to home, model Elle Ferguson is enjoying using the brand, while other fitness experts and personal trainers mix the products into their morning coffees each day.

‘What makes Dose & Co different is our beliefs,’ Libby said.

‘On the search for the right supplements, I noticed many were loaded with fillers, dodgy sweeteners and all sorts of nasties that outweighed the benefits of the supplements themselves.

‘Plus the packaging was often plastic-heavy and I struggled to justify the damage to the planet that purchasing these products would inevitably do.’

As a new mother, she knew she wanted products that were safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, all of which inspired her to launch Dose & Co, which is designed to create better health from the inside out.
