Dr Chris Brown has been busy filming his new TV series Vet Gone Wild.

And the TV presenter was seen cradling a sick koala with a sore eye, in an Instagram post on Sunday.

The 39-year-old wrote in the picture’s caption: ‘When the sleep bus arrives, you’ve just gotta take it.’

Chris, clad in a navy button-up shirt and sporting a rather bemused yet concerned expression, is seen cradling the pint-sized sick koala in his arms.

The host refers to the little bear getting some much needed shut-eye in the photo’s caption: ‘When the sleep bus arrives, you’ve just gotta take it. No matter where it’s going.’

Promoting the upcoming episode of Vet Gone Wild on Sunday night, Chris adds: ‘See how a koala joey’s sore eye sends panic through an entire colony on Sunday 8P on @animalplanet US,’ alongside the hashtags #vetgonewild and #koala.

Hot on the promotional trail for the new docu-series, Chris told Nova 96.9’s Fitzy and Wippa breakfast radio show last month, that he was savagely bitten by a lion in Africa.

After anaesthetising the animal, Chris said he was clearing half-eaten meat from its throat with his fist, when the lion clenched down and its whole incisor tooth went straight through his hand and arm, spraying blood everywhere.

He said: ‘You’ve got to keep on carrying on – you’ve only got half an hour with the animal anesthetic before it starts to wake up.
