Dr Foster’s cheating ex probes Neil about Gemma

Her decision to sleep with the neighbour was motivated by leverage against her ex-husband – not exactly her desire.

But Dr Foster’s cheating ex-husband Simon grilled accountant Neil about their night of passion, probing him for intimate details of their liaison.

Even though Simon is the real villain for his two-year affair with Kate, he was suddenly putting the heat on Neil for sleeping with Gemma in season one.

The villain: Doctor Foster’s cheating ex-husband Simon probes Neil grills Gemma’s ex-fling in the new episode on Tuesday

‘What was she like when you slept with her?’ he demanded, in the latest episode of Doctor Foster.

‘Did you have fun? Did she strip off at the end of the bed because she likes to take her clothes off in front of you?

‘She’s got a good body, right? For her age? She used to tense right in the middle and get electric shocks through her body while f***ing. Did you do that?’

And the episode took an even raunchier turn, as Gemma stripped off to romp with her new man James – her patient and the teacher of her son Tom.

The pair were seen locked in a passionate embrace in the X-rated scene, with the racy camera angle capturing them in their lustful glory.

In season one, Gemma decided to sleep with Simon’s accountant – and next-door neighbour – Neil, so she could blackmail him and find out about the state of her husband’s finances.

The infidelity preceded the big finale episode, when Suranne Jones’s GP Gemma used extreme cunning to confront her unfaithful husband Simon, played by Bertie Carvel.

Her suspicions were roused when she found a pink lip salve in her husband’s trouser pocket and a long blonde hair on his scarf.

In the finale, Gemma and Simon were at the dinner table when she slowly revealed, in front of his mistress and her unsuspecting parents, that she knew of their affair and that 23-year-old Kate, played by Jodie Comer, was pregnant with her husband’s baby.

The series ended with Gemma and Simon separating, Simon and Kate moving away and Gemma winning custody of their son Tom, who is now a young teenager.

The plot has returned to Gemma’s life two years after and Gemma has a new boyfriend, James (Prasanna Puwanarajah) yet her desire to punish Simon hasn’t been fully satisfied.

‘Now we get to look at what actually happens when two divorced people have to deal with each other and parent a child and it’s messy,’ said Suranne, 38, recently.

She warned: ‘It’s quite frightening because the element of “we’re all fine” is very dangerous. And that’s when you really f*** each other over…’

Writer and creator Mike Bartlett said: ‘Her life in Parminster may look better on the surface, but as she will discover to her cost, every action has consequences eventually. No one ever comes through hell unscathed.’
