‘I wanted to ask you, if you will please marry me,’ he said into the microphone.

His bewigged co-star took the microphone before replying with a direct ‘yes’.

Bray went on to thank his ‘main accomplice’ director Haydie Newman and manager Richard Macionis for their support, as well as their families and ‘circus friends’.

‘It was a very nice gesture to have our friends and family [watching],’ Bray he told the Queensland-based publication.

He added: ‘The reason I chose to do it in character on stage is because it’s part of our passion to be doing this job, if you can call it a job, and obviously being at Dracula’s is a very special thing to us.’
