Drake’s films new single with star athletes at Nike World HQ

Drake treated his fans to a surprise on Thursday night with the release of his new single Laugh Now Cry Later.

The 33-year-old rapper showed off his sports prowess, or lack thereof, while battling on the field and on the court with star athletes including Kevin Durant, Odell Beckham Jr and Marshawn Lynch.

The entire video was filmed late at night on the massive grounds of Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon.

New music: Drake, 33, surprise released his newest single and video Laugh Now Cry Later late Thursday night. The video was filmed at Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon

Drake’s video opens with text revealing its midnight at Nike World Headquarters.

His opening lyrics, ‘Sometimes we laugh, sometimes we cry,’ seem to encapsulate the clip, which shows the former Degrassi star competing and losing against world caliber athletes, though he still keeps his spirits up.

He and an unknown woman drive up to the Nike World Headquarters in a luxury convertible, before the rapper has a one-on-one match with NBA star Kevin Durant, though it’s not clear if the footage was filmed before or after he was diagnosed with COVID-19.

Drake manages to get off one three-pointer shot, but Kevin’s superior height allows him to block him and sink his own baskets.

The clip cuts to a shopping trip at the Nike Company Store while he and the woman push carts of clothing and shoes.

Next, Drake fares better on the football field with Odell Beckham Jr. as he’s able to catch a pass from the wide receiver.

Then the action pauses for Drake and Lil Durk to show off their flat bill hats while wearing suits in front of a gray backdrop as Durk spits out his guest verses.

Drake seems to be riding high after the caught pass, but it all comes crashing down when Marshawn Lynch tackles him out of nowhere on the football field.

‘Get the f*** off the block, man!’ shouts the running back.

Drake drowns his sorrows with some booze in red plastic cups and shares a hearty laugh with Odell.
