Driver downs an entire bottle of MOUTHWASH in an extraordinary bid to change the outcome of a roadside breath test – and cops say he ‘wasn’t affected by alcohol’

A driver attempting to alter the outcome of a breathalyser test has admitted to downing an entire bottle of mouthwash. 

The man will face court in January after his roadside breath test allegedly returned a reading of 0.500. 

He was pulled over by police after allegedly speeding along Campbelltown Rd, Woodbine just after 9.30pm on Friday evening, the Daily Telegraph reported.

His efforts failed and he blew a reading of 10 times the legal limit of 0.050. 

Despite the high reading, police say the man did not appear to be heavily affected by the alcohol. 

The man was charged with willfully altering concentration of alcohol and driving while disqualified. 

He is scheduled to appear before Campbelltown Local Court on January 21, 2019.
