Driver films the moment high-speed police chase ends with fugitive hitting spike mat and SMASHING into his car

This is the terrifying moment a fugitive hits a spike mat and crashes his car into two vehicles during a high-speed chase.

The footage, filmed on Route 302 near Windham, Maine, on Sunday morning, shows the driver of the 2007 Chevy Cobalt, Dale Tucker, 29, of Casco, crash his speeding car into a stationary vehicle by the side of the two-lane road. 

As the fugitive loses control of his vehicle and begins veering off course, the driver of the stationary truck on the opposite side of the road, Tyler Bisson, can be heard screaming: ‘Oh no.’   

According to reports, a 91-year-old man, a 82-year-old woman and another man aged 60, who were inside the second vehicle hit, were also injured after the speeding car crashed into their 2000 Buick Park Avenue.

They were taken to Main Medical Centre with serious but non-life threatening injuries.   

In the clip, the blue Chevy Cobalt, comes hurtling down the road at full speed as Mr Bisson watches on in horror.

The speeding blue car then hits the tyre deflation device laid out on the road and spins out of control.

It was later found that the driver of the car had been on the run from police following a ‘domestic situation’ earlier that morning.

 It is not clear why a spike strip was used by Cumberland County authorities to disable the speeding car.

Following the incident Tucker was arrested and taken to Maine Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.   

The footage was later posted on Facebook and has gathered more than two million views.
