A shocked motorist has slammed a ‘tourist’ for his dangerous driving after catching the man repeatedly veering to the wrong side of the road, putting other motorists at risk.

Paul Dyer filmed the car swerving along a rural road near Simpson, in western Victoria on Monday.

‘I’m coming back from down south, and this f***ing vehicle just keeps crossing over the double lines,’ Mr Dyer can be heard saying.

‘It’s f***ing scaring the hell out of me. I’m thinking who am I going to have to pick up off the road next?’

In the shocking video the blue vehicle appeared to be driving in the middle of the road for some time.

Later, as the car pulled into a carpark, Mr Dyer stopped and confronted the pair about their driving.

‘You be careful please… I’m worried for you. Be careful when you’re driving,’ he said.

The couple apologised to Mr Dyer after he approached them.

Mr Dyer told Daily Mail Australia he had been returning from a surfing trip when he came across the vehicle.

He said he was terrified while following the car for 20 minutes as there were many blind corners and he feared he was going to witness a crash.

Mr Dyer said it seemed like the driver was using the lines as a guide because he spent most of the time driving in the middle of the road

‘I was terrified. It seemed like he was using the lines as a guide,’ Mr Dyer said.

‘I knew it was tourist, it was when they pulled up in front on the general store, they literally went on to the wrong side of the road.’

‘It looked like a hire car and knowing these roads locals don’t drive like that and they were foreign in appearance.’

There have been 150 deaths on Victoria’s roads so far this year – a 53 per cent increase compared to the same time last year.

The majority of the deaths have been on rural roads.
