Boy, 3, fighting for life after almost drowning in a lake before locals saved him with CPR

  • One resident performed CPR on the boy before he was airlifted to hospital

A toddler is fighting for life after he was found motionless in a Victorian lake by horrified locals.

The boy, 3, was discovered floating in Lake Neangar in the Bendigo suburb of Eaglehawk on Sunday morning before the group pulled him from the water.

It is understood one of his rescuers desperately performed CPR on the child while they waited for paramedics to arrive.

A Victoria Police spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia that emergency services arrived at the scene around 11:50am.

Ambulance Victoria revealed the boy was airlifted to the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.

He is in a critical condition.
