Drug dealer from Newport jailed after police find bragging snaps of cannabis farm and wads of cash

A blundering drug dealer was caught out by police after he took bragging pictures of himself holding huge wads of cash, flash watches and bling jewellery.

Shameless Mark Wainfur, 29, was caught with an unbelievable £13,000 of cash hidden in his pockets when police raided his home in Newport, South Wales. 

When specialist drug officers took a look at his phones, they found more than 26,000 drug related pictures, 400 videos and 700 messages.

Among the brazen pictures was one showing Wainfur posing in the middle of a huge cannabis farm.

One photo shows the ‘boastful’ dealer posing with a thick gold chain necklace saying ‘HOT WAFF’.

Another shows his with a diamond-encrusted Royal Oak Offshore watch.

Officers found more than £14,000 in cash at Wainfur’s home- including the £13,000 in his coat pockets and another £1,134 in notes and coins.

As well as the high-value clothes, jewellery and Rolex watches – police also found digital scales containing traces of cannabis.

The court heard there were slips of paper with a phone number written on them which were ‘effectively business cards’. 

Officers found a V5 document for a Ford Kuga, parked outside, which was bought for £6,500 in cash.

Prosecutor Owen Williams told Newport Crown Court: ‘Several photos showed him posing with huge amounts of cash.

‘There are images of the defendant posing with huge bundles of bank notes in the thousands.’

Wainfur admitted being concerned in the production of cannabis and money laundering.

Jailing Wainfur for 3 years and 4 months, Judge Neil Bidder QC said: ‘He is a professional drug trafficker and proud of it.

‘The trafficking of drugs is a despicable trade. It causes untold misery. It causes death.

‘It is at the root of the majority of crime dealt with in these criminal courts.’
