The shocking abuse of an eight-year-old boy who was beaten and held captive in a shipping container by his mother’s drug-addict boyfriend has been revealed — four years after he was found.

Police found the emaciated boy on a soiled mattress in a metal container on a property in Elands, north-west of Taree in 2015.

The boy had multiple cuts and bruises covering his body and a burn was found on his hand.

He had been locked in the container for days without ventilation and was not allowed to use the toilet. As a result he was forced to defecate into a tin

The victim’s trauma ‘of feeling like an animal’ has been revealed in a court statement at the sentencing of his mother’s former boyfriend.

The boy had been locked in the container for days without ventilation and was not allowed to use the toilet. 

As a result he was forced to defecate into a tin. 

The man also reportedly ‘kicked the boy, slammed his head into the container, and punched him in the leg,’ Tweed Daily News reports.
