Evangelina Sanchez is accused of driving at 133 mph while intoxicated

A Wisconsin woman is accused of driving drunk at more than 130mph all while two children were sitting in the back – and one was not wearing a seat belt.

Evangelina Sanchez was clocked on radar travelling at 133mph shortly after midnight on August 31.

Police chased after the vehicle and received readings of the car traveling around 114mph.

Before entering the tiny town of Sharon southwest of Milwaukee, the car began to slow down when the officer ‘received a reading of 57 mph in a 35 mph zone.’

The officer recognized the driver as Sanchez and conducted a traffic stop.

Two children, aged six and one, were spotted in the back seat. One of them was not wearing a seat belt according to Fox 6.

The complaint states that as the officer approached the vehicle he ‘observed two young children in the back seat, one of whom was unrestrained.’

The officer also noticed Sanchez’s eyes were ‘glassy.’

The officer questioned her about her speed to which she replied she ‘had to get home.’

The officer also ‘detected an odor of what he believed to be alcohol coming from Sanchez’s breath’ to which defendant allegedly admitted to drinking a couple.

‘Drank two only, just two,’ police say she replied.

The officer then conducted a field sobriety test which police say she failed.

The OWI charge was filed against Sanchez on September 3, and a second charge for recklessly endangering safety was filed on October 18.

Sanchez is expected back in court on both charges on Monday.
