Drink driving does not just involve vehicles, it can also include a horse.

A 51-year-old Logan woman was charged with drink driving after she allegedly rode a horse to a bottle shop last night whilst more than four times over the legal alcohol limit.

The woman appeared heavily intoxicated while allegedly riding the horse through the drive through section of the tavern, according to police.

Springwood officers were called to the tavern on Wembley Road at Logan Central around 11:30pm as the woman refused to leave the premises.

She was then arrested and taken to Logan Central Police Station.

She allegedly provided a positive blood alcohol content level of 0.226 per cent – the legal BAC limit for driving is 0.05 per cent, according to reports.

The woman was then charged with being in charge of a horse whilst under the influence of liquor.

She is due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on June 26.

Police officers walked the horse to Logan Central Police Station before it was later returned to a Marsden address
