  • London flat Duchess of Cambridge shared with her sister has been sold
  • The three-storey apartment sold for £70,000 less than its £1.95m asking price
  • Her parents Carole and Michael Middleton bought the property in 2002

The three-storey luxury Chelsea flat the Duchess of Cambridge lived in before her marriage has sold for £70,000 less than its £1.95million asking price.

Kate lived in the flat, on Old Church Street, Chelsea, with her sister Pippa, before she married Prince William in April 2011.

Her parents Carole and Michael Middleton bought the property in 2002 for £780,000 and have still made a substantial profit.

Selling for £1.88million the Middleton’s are unlikely to feel the pinch, as £70,000 happens to be the same price as a week-long stay at Glen Affric – the Scottish Highlands estate run by Pippa Middleton’s in-laws.

Pippa, who married Hedge Fund manager James Matthews, and has a little boy named Arthur, now lives in a £17 million mansion just down the road.

In the understated flat a large living room opens in to a small yet stylish marble kitchen.

On the third floor a master suite with an ensuite boasts views over Chelsea. Two further bedrooms and a family-sized bathroom are then on the top floor.
