Dustin Martin is on the verge of a HUGE real estate payday after making a killing by selling his first home

  • Purchased home near Melbourne’s CBD in 2012 for $993,000
  • Retired from AFL this season after winning three flags with Tigers

Footy legend Dustin Martin is laughing all the way to the bank after selling the first home he purchased in Melbourne for almost double the price.

Martin, 33, recently retired from the AFL following a decorated career with Richmond that included three premierships.

A noted big-game player, the champion midfielder also snared the Norm Smith Medal as best on ground in each of the Tigers’ grand final triumphs in 2017, 2019 and 2020.

‘Dusty’ has since turned his attention to his real estate portfolio, and is making a killing.

The home he bought at Albert Park in 2012 – just 4km south of Melbourne’s CBD – recently sold for close to $1.8million.

Given Martin paid $993,000 for the elegant Victorian terrace just over a decade ago, it is a terrific return on his investment.

Martin is also tipped to enjoy a significant second windfall from an Abbotsford commercial property.

Along with his manager Ralph Carr, Martin is among the investors selling four neighbouring retail properties on Victoria St.

They come with an eye-watering $9million plus price tag.

It is also understood a second Abbotsford property on the same street which Martin and Carr have interest in will be listed in 2025.

The price range is tipped to be between $4million and $5million.

Martin made his AFL debut in 2010 and despite some lean early years, he remained a one-club player at Punt Rd.

Success eventually followed, with Martin a key figure as Tigers fans enjoyed a premiership dynasty.
