Dutch pop star, 20, is left in tears after DJ’s prank

A Dutch pop star was brought to tears in horror after two radio DJs ambushed her with a streaker as she performed live on air in what the singer has since called a ‘really stupid prank’.

Maan de Steenwinkel, 20, was performing on Radio 538 when DJs Frank Dane and Jelte van der Groot pranked her by bringing a naked dancing man on stage as she sang.

The singer, who won the ‘Voice of Holland’ talent show in 2016, burst into tears when she saw the naked man as Dane and others in the studio laughed.

She hadn’t initially seen the man run out on stage, as she had been singing with her eyes closed.

Dane can be heard saying ‘oh no’ as he stops the music and realises the intended prank just completely went wrong.

‘I got scared,’ Maan said. ‘Suddenly a nude penis was shown in front of my face.’

The radio show was broadcast live on radio on November 17, but it sparked outrage this week after the footage was shared online.

Singer Tim Knol said it was ‘not funny in anyway’ and called for a boycott of the radio station.

Sjors Froehlich, editor-in-chief of radio news station BNR, said: ‘If it was up to me, these guys would have been fired immediately.’

Meanwhile, the DJs have since apologised to Maan on air and afterward, and she has said she accepts the apologies.

She wrote in an Instagram post: ‘I felt very bad about it, but it has been more than three weeks ago now and I have, after multiple apologies from Frank and his team, closed this chapter.

‘Apologies accepted and let’s focus now on my very first club tour in which I put all my positive energy, as making music is still the most beautiful there is.’
