Footy player Dylan Walker will be allowed to play in National Rugby League trial matches despite being accused of domestic violence.

Walker, who plays for the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles, will face court next week over assault charges after an alleged fight with his fiancee Alexandra Ivkovic  on December 6, The Daily Telegraph reported.

Despite the pending charges, he has been made available for a trial match against the Cronulla Sharks, in Cronulla, on Saturday night – three days before his court date.

The club said the pending court case will have no bearing on if Walker is selected for Saturday night’s game or not.

Instead, they will place more importance on his ‘fitness’ and ‘desire to play’.

‘We will see how the week unfolds at training. He is available. The court case won’t be a deciding factor in whether he plays or not,’ a club official said.

His fiancee, Alexandra Ivkovic, suffered a number of cuts to her feet, leg and shoulder after the alleged incident and made a statement to police.

However, shortly after she retracted her statement.

Despite her backpedaling, NSW Police decided to push forward with charges of common assault and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
