Eagles Daryl Worley is arrested and tasered by Philadelphia police

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Daryl Worley has been tasered and arrested by police after he became combative with officers after being found passed out in his car. 

The 23-year-old was taken into custody by Philadelphia Police at about 6am on Sunday, the NFL Network reports.

Worley was found passed out inside a vehicle that was blocking the highway at the intersection of Broad Street and Pattison Ave after someone called 911.

The incident occurred near the Eagles’ team facility.

Police used a taser on Worley after he became combative with the officers.

A gun was reportedly found on the scene. 

It is not yet clear why Worley, who is a Philly native, was arrested. 

The Eagles said in a statement: ‘We are in the process of gathering more information about Daryl Worley’s arrest this morning.’

In college, Worley pleaded no contest to misdemeanor assault over an incident involving a woman at a night club. He said at the time he was protecting his girlfriend (above)

Worley has only been with the Eagles for a month after being traded from Carolina. in exchange for wide receiver Torrey Smith.  

He played in 15 games with 14 starts for the Panthers last season.

In college, Worley pleaded no contest to misdemeanor assault over an incident involving a woman at a night club. 

He said at the time that he had been defending his girlfriend with whom he now has a baby boy with.
