East Nashville baby dies in pickup truck after dad forgot about her

A one-year-old girl died after her dad accidentally left her strapped inside a hot pickup truck on the family’s driveway for an entire day.

Police said the child’s adoptive father, from East Nashville, forgot about his daughter after dropping her sibling off at nursery.

The girl’s mom found her in the vehicle on Wednesday evening, said the force.

The child, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead when she arrived at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, in Nashville.

Police have launched an investigation into the death and so far the parents have not been identified.

Metro Nashville PD wrote on Twitter: ‘One-year-old girl dies after being left in a car seat all day in a pickup truck parked at the family’s East Nashville home.

‘Adoptive father reportedly forgot about the child after dropping off her sibling at daycare.

‘Adoptive mother found the girl at Virginia Ave home this evening.

‘She was pronounced deceased upon arrival at Vanderbilt Hospital. Investigation will continue through the night.’
