EastEnders’ Bobby Brazier ‘to sign up for Strictly Come Dancing’

EastEnders star Bobby Brazier is reportedly set to sign up for the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing.

The actor, 20, who plays Freddie Slater in the BBC soap, has apparently caught the eye of the ballroom dance contest’s bosses after impressing the viewing public.

It is claimed model Bobby, who is the son of late Big Brother star Jade Goody, will also add substance to Strictly with his interesting family background.

A source told The Sun: ‘Bobby is the dream signing for Strictly — he’s a young heartthrob who comes with a huge fanbase.

‘He also has a very personal backstory and there’s so much love out there for Jade.

‘There’s a few last-minute details to sort but the talks are in final stages.’

MailOnline has contacted the BBC and a representative for Bobby for comment.

Bobby, who joined EastEnders in August last year, is the son of the late Jade Goody, who tragically died in 2009 of cervical cancer at the age of 27. His father is television presenter Jeff Brazier.

Jade shot to fame in 2002 on the third series of reality TV show Big Brother.

She finished fourth on the Channel 4 show and later entered it’s spin-off show Celebrity Big Brother in 2007 where she was deemed racist after making remarks about her Indian housemate.

Bobby is Jade’s eldest child from her relationship with his dad Jeff, with the pair also having a son Freddie in 2004 together before they went their separate ways shortly after.

In March, Bobby paid tribute to his late mother with a sweet Instagram post.

He called Jade his ‘guide’ as he shared some of his modelling shots on the social media platform.

Bobby wrote in the caption: ‘Genes on his side, god in his heart and goody as his guide.’

It comes after Bobby opened up about his late mother Jade and his opinion on the ‘nepo baby’ debate.

Bobby was just five years old at the time, and revealed that he bases his memory of his mum on what others tell him about her.

Speaking to The Times about what he remembered of Jade, he said: ‘Not a whole lot. Maybe memories of memories. I’m always being told about her and what she meant to people. I guess I know my mum through other people’s memories of my mum.’

Bobby said: ‘I’ve never really thought about her experience of fame. I think to assume that anybody’s experience of fame is glamorous, or that it will make you whole or happy, is silly. It might make some things better, but because of that it’ll make other things worse.’

Giving his opinion on the current ‘nepo baby’ debate, he said: ‘Simply put, what good is an opportunity if you can’t deliver? I really believe in my abilities. So thank you, Mum and Dad, for the opportunities that may come my way. But I can thank me for the belief in myself, and my dad for giving me the belief.’

Bobby, who lives with his father Jeff Brazier, 43, brother Freddie, 18, and stepmother Kate, previously told The Sun how he believes Jade ‘would love’ him ‘trying my best to make something of my life’ after carving out a career as a model.

He said: ‘Like every boy, you want to think your mum would be proud of you.

‘I hope she’s looking down on me and smiling, probably laughing, thinking, ‘Look at Bobby lying in a field in his designer gear.’
