EastEnders fans are left in shock as Tiffany Butcher-Baker’s face swells up after getting bad filler injections

EastEnders fans were left in shock when Tiffany Butcher-Baker’s face swelled-up after she got bad filler injections during Friday night’s episode.

The character, played by Maisie Smith, had spent over £1000 on cosmetic work in a bid to impress her chef husband Keegan and his entourage.

In dramatic scenes, Maisie’s character was seen with bruises on her cheek and her lips had become swollen.

Ouch: EastEnders fans were left in shock as Tiffany Butcher-Baker’s face swelled up on Friday’s episode after she had gotten bad filler injections

Tiffany had lied to Keegan and claimed she was going for a facial before coming clean that she’d actually had the troublesome cosmetic procedure.

In a tense altercation afterwards, she wept as she told him: ‘I got fillers. I just wanted to look my best. We’re a brand now, I’ve got to be the same standard as everyone else.

‘It’s an investment – I’m doing this for us. It’s fine, I’ll pay them off – it was £800 today and £400 the first time.

Keegan lambasted her for getting the procedure and he criticised Tiffany for spending so much money trying to look like ‘every next girl’.

‘You did ruin our night, but I’m not going to let you ruin our future,’ he raged before storming away from Tiffany as she sobbed.

Fans were quick to flood to Twitter to show their support for the character.

‘You don’t need Fillers Tiffany,’ wrote one viewer, while another added: ‘Tiffany’s gorgeous inside and out. It’s a shame she feels so down about herself.’

‘God if Tiffany doesn’t feel good enough what hope is there for us uglies?’ another fan questioned.

‘Oh no Tiffany,’ another viewer lamented alongside the crying and broken heart emoji.

Maisie, who joined EastEnders when she was just six, has ambitions of starring on the big-screen and is hoping to crack Hollywood with a major film role.

Maisie’s profile rocketed following her appearance on the 2020 series of Strictly Come Dancing in which she finished runner-up to winner Bill Bailey.

Her management have held talks with various clothing and make-up companies regarding lucrative branding deals she’ll be allowed to take on once out of her BBC contract, which has strict rules against advertising.

However, MailOnline understands fashion endorsements are not the main incentive behind her decision to leave, with acting ambitions the overriding reason.

It’s understood Maisie does not want her character Tiffany Butcher-Baker killed off, as she wants to leave the door open for a return to Albert Square.

Maisie left the soap once before in 2014 when the Jackson family, including on-screen mum Patsy Palmer who plays Bianca, were written out.

She used her time away from EastEnders to launch a music career before returning to Walford full-time four years later.

In an interview last month, Maisie admitted she was keen to explore other roles.

She told The Sun: ‘In the future I want to try new things and I want to play new characters, but for right now I’m happy because EastEnders want me still.’
