EastEnders SPOILER: Ben Mitchell to become embroiled in violent fight

Ben Mitchell is to become embroiled in a ferocious fight in a bid to impress his father Phil in upcoming EastEnders scenes.

Walford’s new Boxing Den is set to have a grand opening and following Phil (Steve McFadden) and Kat’s (Jessie Wallace) investment, but things are thrown into chaos when one of the boxers is taken ill.

In the hopes of pleasing his dad, Ben (Max Bowden) offers to stand in for the sportsman.

However, Ben seems to have thrown himself in too deep as he soon realises the fight may be more than he can handle.

Having underestimated the power of his opponent, Ben is left seriously injured in the harrowing scenes.

Ben has faced a number of troubles recently, with Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold), the mother of daughter Lexi (Isabella Brown), being diagnosed with in incurable brain tumour.

He is determined to make things as happy and comfortable for her as possible in her final days. 

Lola will receive some unexpected news from her doctor in next week’s EastEnders, as she continues to struggle with the effects of her brain tumour.

In emotional scenes, Lola remains determined to raise as much money as possible through her fundraiser, aware she could be about to get bad news from her doctor.

Viewers have seen Lola’s loved ones struggle with the prospect of her terminal diagnosis, with her health growing progressively worse in recent weeks.

A recent flash-forward also hinted that Lola would pass away before 2023 is over, with a photograph of her seen on the bar in the Queen Vi pub. 

Amongst this, Lola’s mother Emma (Patsy Kensit) continues to battle her own hidden guilt, sparking suspicion from Jay (Jamie Borthwick) that she is struggling to cope with her daughter’s declining health.

Following her news, Lola insists that she wants to plough on with the fundraiser, and she asks Sam if she can hire Peggy’s for the event but Sam declines. 

Lola lashes out before Phil steps in promising Lola that Peggy’s is hers for free if she needs it.

Lola is touched by Phil’s generosity, leaving a drunken Sam humiliated that her brother has undermined her once again.

Regardless, Lola remains determined to push forward with her fundraiser event, but after arguing with Ben (Max Bowden) to prioritise their daughter, Lola is overcome with emotion when she realises that Lexi (Isabella Brown) believes that she will get better and decides she needs to come clean to her loved ones.

After a hugely successful fundraising event, Lola asks Emma to join her and Lexi’s girly night in.

Emma awkwardly declines the offer, which raises alarm bells with Jay who fears that Emma is unable to cope with Lola’s declining health.

Will Emma be honest with Lola about her struggles? 

It comes after EastEnders fans were left convinced that Lola’s mum Emma is hiding some dark secrets after her odd behaviour sparked yet more theories on Monday’s episode.

In the latest installment of the soap, Emma was keen to spend time with Lola for Mother’s Day.

As they spend time together as talk turned to Emma’s own mum – and it became apparent very quickly that she was hiding something.

Emma told Lola that her ‘glamorous’ mother had died in a care home during lockdown during the coronavirus pandemic. 

Later on in the episode Lola and her young daughter Lexi tried to find out more about their late relative and when they asked Emma looked panicked.

When pressed on the issue Emma changed the topic and fled the house – saying she had to check in on an elderly neighbour. 

After her sudden departure it was clear that Lola and her partner Jay Brown didn’t believe her and that something fishy was going on.  

Those watching weren’t convinced either and took to social media to vent their theories that she was lying about her mum. 

Taking to Twitter, viewers guessed she might not even be Lola’s mother or could have even killed her own mum.
